My House of Hargrove-2nd Edition

We moved in in June and I am still super busy working on the house!  Slowly but surely we are getting there!

I think my favorite room in the house is the Mud Room!  I have always dreamed of having one and love the idea of having a place for everything!  Avery is only 1 so we haven't dealt with her backpacks, shoes, coats, etc. yet, but my husband is a huge fan of leaving his stuff lying around =).  Now....he has a place right when he walks in the back door to drop everything!  This make me very happy!!
I wanted to add some "sparkle" to this room and it is coming along!

Here is the before photo:

and NOW:

I added some stripes and a giant crystal chandelier.  The door straight ahead is the laundry room and on the left of the photo are the mudroom cubbies.  Just to the right of the stairs is the door into our garage.  The door that I painted our house address on (see blog post here)
Here are the cubbies.  I need to add more baskets at the top! There is a cubby for each of us and one extra for child #2 one day =)

Here is a view of the mudroom from the top of the stairs.  These back stairs lead up to my husband's favorite room....the game room.
Eventually I have plans to make the far right wall a family photo gallery.  I want to do lots of large black and white canvas prints of the family.  This will be a work in progress over the years.  My cat Ariel decided to jump in the photo.
Here is a view of the mudroom from inside the game room.  It has this incredible barn door that I designed and had built by the super talented Dumpster Diva!!  We LOVE this door.  It adds such character to the room and glides so easily to cover the opening and close off the room which is nice when its boys night and it is really loud upstairs.  I had done lots of research on barn doors and couldn't believe how expensive all of the hardware was!!  I couldn't find anything online that was any cheaper than $350!!  So...seeing as I like the "look for less" I went to the local Tractor Supply store and bought a real barn door slider.  It was silver and I just spray painted it.  It was only $125 for all of the pieces!!  Much better!!

Here are the french doors from the hallway that also lead into the game room. There are 2 entrances....the barn door/mudroom entrance and this one.
This is the view when you walk through the french doors.  You can see the barn door to the right.

The opening to the left of the barn door is an entrance into the card room.  My husband loves to play cards with his friends.
I wanted the game room/card room to have an industrial/rustic/farm feel.  I was searching for the perfect light for above this table and found it at CB2 for $179!!  It looks like an old antique farm light.
You can find it HERE.

Here is a view of the game room from the other side near the window bench.  My cat decided to crash this photo too =)
In sticking with the industrial/vintage/barn theme I fell in love with this light at Lowes.
Its by Allen and Roth and it was $199.  You can find it HERE.

These are a set of french doors behind the couch that lead to the "Juliette Balcony" over looking our Family Room.

There are still some things I am working on for the game room.  I will be adding Roman Shades, pillows and a cushion to the window seat.  I also will be replacing the sofa with this incredible sofa I found at Home Decorators!
It looks like the old vintage Chesterfield sofas with casters and tufting.  I LOVE it!  Find it HERE.

I also want to change out the coffee and side table to these great industrial reproduction pieces from World Market!
Find them HERE

Stay tuned and I will update as more projects get complete.
